Once a month, Schonce a month!

Once a month, schonce a month. This is our fourth weekend in a row!

Notice the newly painted picnic table that Grandma Chaney gave us.

I went over to say hell-o to our neighbors. Zoom in and check them out.

I got the drinking fountain going in the side yard. I'll work on the one in the park next.

Mom's azaleas are really blooming now.

Freshly mowed the day before, a peaceful morning in the lower garden

Can't wait until we are all there.

Weekend two, more farm fun

Another trip to the farm and the first thing we did was unload our camper right in the front yard. Mary Jane says "There goes the neighborhood!"

We set to work on removing the weeds from around the fruit trees and spreading mulch around them for weed control and water conservation.

Mary Jane must have mowed an acre and a half. At one point I had to turn the mower lights so she could finish up one area in the dark.

We weeded the grapes, vegetable garden and berry patch

This pile of weeds is 8' across Mary Jane pulled and piled most of
them

I call this Sherman's garden. Last week he wanted to know where we were going to plant the tomatoes. I said I wasn't. Then we looked around and started pulling the weeds from this raised bed. Saturday I planted tomatoes, squash and green beans. I set up an automatic watering system so without much care there should be tomatoes for anyone who visits.

There were weeds 2' high in the grape bed. Now it looks great.

Mary Jane pulled all of the weeds in the berry bed and we planted six owllala (spelling?) berry plants.

All in all we worked our tails off and had a great time doing it!

Notice the blog is not backwards this time.

Next time I'll have a picture instead of that shadow-head!

Love to all,

Neal and Mary Jane

Hooray! We spent our first weekend as owners instead of visitors. As you can see we need an new name for the place because to us it is exceedingly grand.

Mary Jane and I were busy about the place doing all kinds of things. I got the lawn tractor ready, mowed some weeds, planted two cherry trees, worked on the sprinkler system, and fixed a few things. Mary Jane unloaded the truck and trailer, sorted out the bag full of keys we got, took pictures and helped with everything
We didn't want to leave.

Here are some more pictures. Now go to the top!
